Our land Welcome at Colle Jano
Welcome at Colle Jano
The Colle Jano Farm is located at the central base of the splendid natural amphitheater designed by the “five timeless villages” of Cupramontana, Monte Roberto, Castelbellino, San Paolo and Staffolo. In 2016 we decided to acquire this 7-hectare estate because we believed and still believe in a self-sufficient, sustainable and rewarding lifestyle.
Colle Jano was born as a family business dedicated to the cultivation of vines, olive trees, fruit and vegetables, aromatic herbs and the breeding of bees and farmyard animals . We will be happy to welcome you to taste together the fruits of our beloved land.

Inspired by Janus
The Philosophy
Inspired by Janus , the archaic two-faced divinity, we try to draw on the past and re-propose a type of advanced and responsible agriculture. We therefore aim at the recovery of historic vineyards and the enhancement of ancient varieties of Verdicchio, through the use of conservation agriculture techniques.
Life abroad has made us appreciate even more what makes our land great in the world: the ability to produce an economy based on identity and innovation , but which has its roots in history and in our innate vocation to generate beauty in absolute harmony with the territory.

A rescued vineyard
Despite the state of abandonment of the vines, we have bet on their recovery, bringing the vineyards back to a physiologically efficient and functional form of farming.
With pleasant surprise we noticed that in the areas of the vineyard with a greater sandy component ungrafted specimens thrive that our predecessors replicated using the offshoot technique.
We are proud of our choices clearly in contrast with respect to the normal logic of agronomic management, as our efforts have allowed us to restore life to a small important heritage in the wine scene of Verdicchio dei Castelli di Jesi.
